Looking for Ballroom Dance Classes in Adelaide?

Ballroom Dance styles include Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Quickstep…

Learning the fundamentals of Social Ballroom dancing will give you a greater amount of joy, fulfilment and self confidence. Come to Elite Synergy Dance School and try our Ballroom Dance classes now or choose a style to focus on with our Private Dance Lessons. If you are a Ballroom dancer or want to become one then you will fall under this two categories .

1) American Smooth

If you dance your Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango and Viennese Waltz in closed dance position as well as open dance positions whilist adding flare from other forms of dance styles such as jazz, contemporary then you are dancing American Smooth. American Smooth is just a title and is also known as social ballroom. American Smooth is danced world wide because it was designed to be danced with different dance partners and was influence by movies such as Fred Astair & Ginger Rogers movies. Everyone who dances their Ballroom in open dance position, and adds little flare from other dance forms is dancing American smooth.

2) International Standard (Dancesport).

If you Dance your Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz & Quickstep only in closed dance position and if you mainly dance with one dance partner then you are dancing most likely International standard. Again the title International is misleading as the main people who dance this type of Ballroom are competition dancers. However it can and is dance socially as well around the world. It be easier to think of International Standard and American smooth as 2 different teams. Hence if you want to be a social dancer that can dance anywhere in the world and with any dance partner then you best learn both styles of Ballroom. They have allot in common that most people think but hey people will always still argue about it. Come to Elite Synergy Dance School and we will teach you how to use some easy to use principals so you can dance with any of these Ballroomers. Most people don’t realise that Ballroom Dancing refers to 6 main dances. Which includes 3 Latin dance styles. Just to make it easier to understand we have separated the dance styles.

Social Ballroom dancing to us refers to:

Elegant Waltz

Follow this link to find our how Waltz dancing looks like by Watching, listen the dance clip of Waltz and read our description of our Elegant and dreamy dance we call the Waltz.

Passionate Tango

Classy Foxtrot

Viennese Waltz

Quickstep

The elegant Waltz would be the easiest dance to start of with or the classy Foxtrot. With Waltz you don’t need too much room as it can be done in a small place however Foxtrot needs a little more room to dance in. However you will be improving your posture, balance and be looking confident when you learn this dances made for kings and queens.
